Lakin Ogunbanwo is a Nigerian photographer working at the intersection of fashion photography and classical portraiture. His subjects are often framed by shadow and drapery, drawing on the traditions of African Studio photography while documenting the culture of Lagos and expanding the contemporary African Visual archive. 

Born in Lagos in 1987, Ogunbanwo studied Law before turning to photography full time in 2012. His work has shown at Lagos photo festival, Sydney Contemporary, Art x Lagos, Miart Milan, 1-54 London, WHATIFTHEWORLD, Cape town among others.

His photographs are held in the Smithsonian, the National Gallery of Victoria and the Wedge Collection Toronto. He has been featured in The New Yorker, Vogue Italia, and AD and commissioned by the V&A and Galeries Lafayette Paris.

To Keep began as a way of giving a home to work that never had one. Outtakes, experiments, images that didn't find a home.
